A Solar PV DC combiner box is an electrical distribution box where DC fuses, breakers and surge protectors are housed. The main purpose is to combine multiple DC inputs from the panels in the system into a single DC output to match the DC connections on the inverter. They also serve to transition to larger wires between the array and inverter to minimize transmission voltage drop.
